Liberty Theater
New information! The Liberty Theater originally opened around June 1922, constructed behind Planters Bank & Trust Company. In 1939, it was taken over by the K. Lee Williams Theatres Inc. circuit, who closed the location and moved the theater to 118 N. Main Street.

Gem / Howard Theater
The Gem Theater, which opened circa 1930, closed for about 90 days and reopened as the new Howard Theater in 1939, a modernized motion picture house that was described as the best in this part of the state…owned and operated by K. Lee Williams Theatres, Inc.
